Unlikely with their paper tiger and terrible track record. Their own country’s defense industry is in utter shambles. This would be a risky, poor choice for Canada
And I am wrong !! I am ok with that. I still think tkms is an unnecessary risk and it will be a choppy ride.
I benefit greatly from this decision, being Canadian and indirectly involved, however I am also too close and see right through the tkMS sales pitch, it’s frightening. Wismar is an utter disaster and cutting steel before finishing the design was a PR stunt.
I hope the negotiations go well and congratulations 🎉 RCN
Good summary. However, the Prime Minister is head of government. King Charles is Canada's head of state (and in His absence, the Governor General stands in).
The back log for tkMS is huge and they can barely manage their own navy procurement situation. Canada should stay clear of their over promised hoax of a sales pitch.
Politically Germany is to be avoided with the AFD right wing fools in the batting cage, they will ruin what is left of Germany before Canada’s first sub is due.
And Korea had a self-coup and Alberta (Canada) is hosting a referendum on a referendum for independence. Politics in democracy can be messy! Thanks for your comments but stay polite!
Thanks for a great article. I wonder if a TKMS decision looms due to proximity to the NATO summit.
you're right, that would seem to fit well!

hey SSOL - let's hear more!
You know the deal, surface ship contract recently cancelled and few export sub contracts ever handed over on time.
Koreans have been at war for the last 50 years, innovating and diligent.
Germans have been complacent and comfortable which shows in their current domestic military, naval and air scramble.
Who poses less risk atm ?

Fact!
Hanwha was smart to recognize this and signed with Babcock early.
It s the old rivals of Babcock vs tkMS
TkMS is not fit got purpose and should concentrate on their current backlog and confirming their detailed design before starting construction
hey SSOL, I think the backlog is significant on both sides?

My apologies I did not intend any disrespect nor rudeness.
