How old do we have to be to see the reality of the world and how fragile the relationship between success and failure? I hate that anyone needs to protect themselves. But my wishes won’t buy you two hotdogs….
As a Canadian, we are proud to be partners with the Euro defence group. Any move away from the USA is in our best interests. I'm happy to see so many Canadian companies reaching out to expand.
And this is the exact direction we all need to go. Denmark and Canada CAN defend our own Arctic region without the U.S. They only want to be involved to pillage the North anyway. This is our time to forge an unbreakable bond.
I think that's probably a bit of a stretch RuthF! While I drink the maple syrup, I can't say either nation can go it alone or together without NATO or the US in defending the North. It'll take concerted action to return to a RBO.
We don't need to go it alone to cut the U.S. out. The U.S. military is not what it used to be. We are part of the E.U. military alliance now and that can be expanded on. Yes, the U.S. is powerful but, they have made their intentions regarding the Arctic quite clear. Therefore, they cannot be trusted, and we must do what we must do. I should have been more precise. I do not expect Canada and Denmark to do this all alone. We just need to move the U.S. over. Join other alliances that are more trustworthy.
